In true orthodontic emergencies, our team is available at 419-882-6970. Following the prompts will connect you to the doctors’ voicemail. Contact us for severe pain or issues with your appliance that you can’t manage on your own. We’ll schedule an appointment to address the issue.
Many minor problems can be temporarily resolved at home. If a piece of your appliance comes loose, save it in a plastic bag or envelope for your next appointment. For braces causing discomfort, apply soft wax to the protruding part. If a wire has shifted, use needle-nosed pliers or tweezers to gently reposition it.

Non-Emergency Issues:
Some issues, while not emergencies, still require attention:
Even if you alleviate discomfort, contact us during business hours to repair these issues promptly. Ignoring them may disrupt your treatment plan.
After getting braces, it’s normal to experience soreness in your mouth and tenderness in your teeth for 3-5 days. Stick to soft foods during this period. Warm salt-water rinses can soothe irritated gums and sore spots. For severe tenderness, over-the-counter pain relief like Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is recommended. Apply wax to the braces to ease irritation to lips, cheeks, and tongue. Instructional videos are available on our website.
Contact our office as soon as possible for any of these issues, and check our website for more detailed guidance and helpful videos.
